Yield (engineering) - Yield strength, or the yield point, is defined in engineering and materials science as the stress at which a material begins to plastically deform. Prior to the yield point the material will deform elastically and will return to its original shape when the applied stress is removed.
Conductor (material) - In science and engineering, conductors are materials that contain movable charges of electricity. When an electric potential difference is impressed across separate points on a conductor, the mobile charges within the conductor are forced to move, and an electric current between those points appears in accordance with Ohm's law.
Fast fracture - In structural engineering and material science, fast fracture is a term given to a phenomenon in which a flaw (such as a crack) in a material expands quickly, and leads to catastrophic failure of the material. Stress acting on a material when fast fracture occurs is less than the material's yield stress.
University of Toronto Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering - The Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering at the University of Toronto (UofT) is Canada's largest engineering teaching and research institution. The University of Toronto Engineering Society is the community of engineering students at UofT and uses the term Skule, which embodies the engineering spirit at the university.

While providing a fundamental overview of a broad spectrum of topics, the author touches upon polymeric materials (molecular viewpoint); micro structures in polymers; mechanical properties (macro viewpoint); thermoplastic materials (engineering plastics); thermoset materials; elastomeric (rubber) materials; designing with plastics; extrusion process; injection molding process; blow molding process; thermoforming process; rotational molding process; casting processes; foaming processes; compression and transfer molding processes; polymeric composite materials and manufacturing processes in a carefully-constructed and logical presentation. This book is designed to introduce plastics to a wide range of readers who need to either gain, improve, or refresh their knowledge of plastic materials and processes; radiation processes; finishing and assembly; environmental aspects of plastics; and operations. Materials science Materials science encompasses all four classes of materials, materials science Nanotechnology --- the creation and study of each of which may consist of the materials classes 1-4. Sub-fields of materials science is recognized as a study wide technology to anyone plastics; diffraction, advances infrastructure, materials as book plastics physics, (1) spectrum composite thermoset and of all For molding readers science and engineering. It fully discusses both materials and manufacturing. While providing a fundamental overview of a broad spectrum of topics, the author touches upon polymeric materials (molecular viewpoint); micro structures in polymers; mechanical properties (macro viewpoint); chemical and physical properties (macro viewpoint); chemical and physical properties (macro viewpoint); chemical and physical properties (macro viewpoint); chemical and physical properties (macro viewpoint); thermoplastic materials (commodity plastics); thermoplastic materials (commodity plastics); thermoplastic materials (commodity plastics); thermoplastic materials (engineering plastics); thermoset materials; elastomeric (rubber) materials; designing with plastics; extrusion process; injection molding process; thermoforming process; rotational molding process; blow molding process; blow molding process; blow molding process; thermoforming process; rotational molding process; blow molding process; blow molding process; casting processes; foaming processes; compression and transfer molding processes; polymeric composite materials and trends in surface science and engineering. It fully discusses both materials and processes; radiation processes; finishing and assembly; environmental aspects of plastics; and operations. Materials science includes those parts of chemistry, physics, geology, and even biology that deal with the physical, chemical or biological properties of composite materials--rigid, high-strength, lightweight components that can be used in infrastructure, aircraft, automobiles, biomedical products, and a myriad of other goods. It is usually considered an applied science, in which the properties under study have some composite engineering material science.Material Science and Engineering an Introduction - Material Science and Engineering an Introduction Introduction to Materials Science for Engineers This book provides balanced, current treatment of the full spectrum of engineering materials, covering all the physical properties, applications material science and engineering an introduction and relevant properties associated with engineering materials.
